To all my Audrey friends:
Hang in there.
I was so thinking I would be the one having to grump and join your team today. I’m feeling more bad about your disappointment really than my joy that my guy pulled off the upset. Audrey called me in to her campaign office some time ago. She completely listened to my ideas and was interested in my perspective about downtown and the core. She totally understood when I told her I was supporting Alvin. I don’t think it mattered to her. She wanted my input more than my vote and support. I will always admire her for that. Cheers to her and her flock who I think of my friends alone must number in the thousands. I hope you’ll join me now even if its just to make sure we don’t go backwards.
Alvin Brown is very much in line with your perspective on a vibrant progressive city. I know that is what you want because I am surrounded by you guys! Its been lonely!
I also want to congratulate my friends who didn’t make it, Sean Hall, Shelton Hull, and Michelle Tappouni. It takes courage and hard work to do what you guys have done. Even though all of you are across the aisle, I believe in your vision and passion and hope this is a stepping stone to future civic leadership for all of you.
Feel free to contact me if you want to know more about Alvin, contact him, or attend or throw an event for him. He isn’t perfect, and he isn’t Audrey, but he can and will change the city. And by so doing, throw out years of insider baseball while getting rid of a regressive career politician. I would say gaffe prone, but bombing jokes, and child porn defenses aren’t gaffes. They are major character flaws which we can’t allow to represent our city. He won’t be able to hide in a two person race. The only person that can guaranty a win with heavy turnout is Alvin. So even if you have to hold your nose and won’t work in support, please vote May 17. Love you guys, Tony.
